Aluminum Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger or Plate Fin Heat Exchanger (PFHE) is a set of compressed aluminum parallel plates that are assembled by Brazed Vacuum method and they are most used in cryogenic processes. The characteristic feature of this type of converters is the ability to work at very low temperatures, simultaneous heat exchange between several flows, very high heat transfer level compared to volume and very high compression, which are usually made in the framework of ALPEMA, ASME and API 662 codes and standards.
Process Coldbox is a collection of BAHX, tanks and some other conventional refinery equipment. The design and construction of cold box aluminum converters of C2C3 unit and olefin cold box of Bandaramam Petrochemical for the first time in the country by the capable experts of this company is a big step to localize and break the monopoly of this unique and advanced technology in Iran.
Among the highlights of Hilavis' technological achievements, the following can be mentioned:
Mastery of ALPEMA details
Thermal, fluid modeling and simulation and fin selection
Thermal distribution analysis in each layer and along the converter (Stream by Stream and Layer by Layer Analysis)
Detailed mechanical design
Vacuum aluminum brazing cycle design
Vacuum Brazing Fixture design and brazing loading
Dimensional monitoring systems
Helium Leak Test implementation
Coldbox troubleshooting and repair (BAHX Plugging)
