A door phone in its most basic version is a two-way intercom allowing communication from the street to the inside of a building. More complex door phones are connected to electric strikes, and can unlock and open the door to allow access to the interior of the building.
Door intercoms are also frequently referred to under a variety of different names including door phones, door stations, door entry systems, video intercoms, video entry panels and more!
